Providing accessible legal resources to combat workplace abuse
Los Angeles is the wage theft capital of the country, as over $1.4 billion in wages are stolen each year. 88% of low-income workers in our city experience some form of workplace abuse, and the vast majority of them never file a claim. Koreatown is at the center of this epidemic, as employers routinely exploit the labor of the largely immigrant community.
Created by three UCLA undergraduate students, NAVI aims to provide workers in Koreatown with quick, easy access to legal information and resources on labor law. By breaking down these barriers, we hope to close the gap between workers and the protections that are already theirs.
